The Human Mind

The human mind can and has performed miracles when correctly trained and conditioned for excellence. But the vast potential of the human mind generally remains untapped because most people have not cultivated, explored and challenged themselves.

It has been found that even the most conditioned thinkers exploit only about 25% of the potential of their minds. On the other hand, Indian yogis living high up in Himalayas are known to have disciplined their mind to an extent that they can control their so-called involuntary body processes like heart beat, digestion and nervous functioning!

Through self-awareness, discipline and determination.

Self-awareness: We have to know and understand ourselves – our strengths and weaknesses, abilities and limitations, dreams and aspirations – where we are and where we want to go.

DisciplineWe have to build on our strengths/abilities and consciously work to overcome our weaknesses/limitations. This involves disciplined hard work – a sharp focus and persistent efforts in one direction.

Determination: Determination implies being strong willed, resolute and committed towards our goals, no matter what the circumstances and challenges are. We have to believe in ourselves and our ability to achieve our dreams, however big they are. Nothing should shake us.

Tip: The combination of yogameditative techniques and breath control would go a long way in making our journey shorter!

If we master our mind, we master our life. When we master our life, we master our destiny.

Self

If we wish to change our circumstances, we must change our self first. If we wish to lead a team or organization, we should learn to lead our self first.

When we learn to manage our self in the best possible manner, people around us will automatically follow us, and with a combination of some other attributes, success will follow us as well. In short, self mastery is the DNA of life mastery.

How can we be in control of our self?

By controlling our thoughts and being responsible for our results.

Thoughts: The human mind is dynamic - thousands of thoughts come and go every day. Controlling thoughts implies being positive, in the present and focusing on the task in hand. Of course we should not lose sight of our goals, but being positive and in the present (and not in the past or future) will greatly enhance our efficiency and effectiveness, thus optimizing the results of our actions.

Responsibility: We are responsible for everything that happens in our life. Think about it. If some of us are not as successful as we deserve to be, it is because we have not been smart enough to capitalize on opportunities. Knowing that we are responsible increases our awareness and makes us think before we act. While we are responsible, we should also not forget that we have the power to overcome all challenges in life and achieve our goals. This wisdom will keep us going.

Being positive, focused and responsible will help us reach our goals much faster.

Life

Life is a treasure and there is much more to it than we know about.

There are good times and there are not-so-good times. In the not-so-good times, we tend to perceive things in a negative manner, and the world appears to be a hopeless place. Such times could be when something unfavorable happens – like illness, loss of a loved one or financial losses. But as time passes, things settle down and we start feeling better and positive, and the world becomes more livable.

If you think about it, our thoughts and feelings inside make the world outside.

How can we be positive at all times?

By having courage and knowing the temporary nature of all things.

Courage: We are all positive in good times. But the challenge is to remain so during the not-so-good times. To tackle unfavorable situations, we need to have courage. We should be willing to walk across the fear, overcome it and reach our goals. Also, the understanding that pain and adversity are powerful means for personal growth will help us maintain our balance during tough times.

All things are temporary: Everything is temporary and transient. Time is the biggest healer. As time passes, things have to change – for the better. This should be our driving force and a source of inspiration and hope. This understanding will keep us going.

Good things always come to those who wait. Wait, but work hard relentlessly towards your goals. Stay positive at all times, have the courage the face the not-so-good times and know that all things are temporary. And our goals will become reality.

Goals

An arrow is useless without a target, a journey is pointless without a destination and life is worthless without goals.

Just like everything in this world is built for a purpose, our own life should be guided by goals. What is the point of putting efforts into anything, if you don’t know what you want or where you want to go?

Today, before you go to sleep, take time out to think. Think about your dreams. Think about what you really want to do in life. Think about how you can make a difference in this world. And once you get the answers, set goals for yourself.

Goals can be anything – making X amount of money, reaching Y position in an organization, being a successful entrepreneur, getting famous, doing community service, etc. Set goals for the long-term and then, formulate short-term goals which will help you reach the long-term ones. And then, all you would need to do to reach these goals is be smart and work hard.

Setting goals help us in two ways:

Direction: Goals give direction to our life. Make us work for a reason. And help us achieve what we want. Short-term goals are a road-map to accomplish long-term goals.

Focus: Goals help us remain focused and prioritize. Often, we tend to forget what we should be doing and fritter away time in doing things that are fruitless and in some cases, detrimental and harmful. Whenever we feel lost, we should just read our goals to get back on track. If circumstances are not as desired, we can modify our short-term goals and work towards them.

Goals give us a reason to wake up every morning. We should make it a point to write down our goals and read them every day to remind and motivate ourselves. Then, we should have faith and confidence in our ability to accomplish them. And of course, have the determination to continue in spite of challenges.

If our mind can think of it, we certainly have the ability to do it!

Faith

Dear friends,

today i m unknown to u, but i would like to be ur  best friend now onwards, and provide u warmth and guidence as and when required.

i have a nice story for u.

ther was one village, where always had shortage of rain, but this year there was no rain at all.people managed somehow.

next year same thing.all were horified.

a great saint came to the place. and explained them the power of prayer. they decided to do it heartily to get there life.

all started gathering next day morning for prayer, but had no shine on face,

there came a little boy very happy, jumping with joy and holding an umbrella in his hand believing that it will rain after prayer.

what this teaches, have full faith in result when u do something, dont do just for doing, ur faith is the only base of doing the deed,

Do Less Thinking, and pay more attention to your heart.
Do Less Acquiring, and pay more attention to what you already have.
Do Less Complaining, and pay more attention to giving.
Do Less Controlling, and pay more attention to letting go.
Do Less Criticizing, and pay more attention to complementing.
Do Less Arguing, and pay more attention to forgiveness.
Do Less Running Around, and pay more attention to stillness.

Give It A Shot

Give It A Shot
Question: There are 3 frogs on a leaf. If one of them decided to jump off the leaf into the water, how many frogs are there left on the leaf?
Answer: Three!
Why? The frog only DECIDED to jump! It didn’t!
Dreaming of a personal accomplishment, most people make the mistake of waiting…
- Waiting until they’ve been trained
- Waiting till someone say’s they are ready
- Waiting till they have the proper tools
- Waiting till they’re better
- Waiting till they’re hired
- Waiting till they’ve been given the assignment
Ponder over this, my friends. Are you not unlike the frog; who decides to do this, decides to do that, but ended up not doing any?
In life, we have to make many decisions. Some easy; some hard. Most mistakes are not made by wrong decisions; Most mistakes are made due to our inability to take a right decision at the right time.
We have to live with the consequences of our decisions. And that is RISK.

Friendship Day: A Friend Is Someone

A Friend Is Someone

A Friend Is Someone
A friend is someone who…
Is concerned with everything you do. Is concerned with everything you think.
Calls upon during good time. Calls upon during bad time.
Understands whatever you think. Understands whatever you do.
Tells you the truth about yourself. Knows what you are going through all time.
Refuses to listen the gossip about you. Supports you all the time.
Does not compete with you. Genuinely happy for you when things go well.

Friend In Trouble

Friend In Trouble

Friend In Trouble

If a friend is in trouble, don’t annoy him by asking, ”If there is something I can do?”
Think up something appropriate and do it.

When Life Outpaces You

When Life Outpaces You

When Life Outpaces You

When life’s largest pressured leave you struck dumb,
Just search for an answer; The solution will come.

When a tragedy occurs leaving you feeling numb,
Just wait for your health; The strength will come.

When everyone relies on you and there is no way you can see,
Trust your mind to think with time; Patience is the key.

When you have made it where others always flee,
Just wait to gather courage; Soon you’ll be where you want to be.

When it is nearing the end and you’re in need,
Muster up your courage; Endurance will lead.

Help Others Where You Can

Special Olympics
A few years ago at the Seattle Special Olympics, nine contestants, all physically or mentally disabledchallenged, assembled at the starting line for the 100-yard dash. At the gun, they all started out, not exactly in a dash, but with a relish to run the race to the finish and win.
All, that is, except one boy who stumbled on the asphalt, tumbled over a couple of times and began to cry. The other eight heard the boy cry. They slowed down and looked back. They all turned around and went back. Every one of them.
One girl with Down’s Syndrome bent down and kissed him and said, “This will make it better.” All nine linked arms and walked across the finish line together.
Everyone in the stadium stood, and the cheering went on for several minutes. People who were there are still telling the story. Why? Because deep down we know this one thing: What matters in this life is more than winning for ourselves.
What truly matters in this life is helping others win, even if it means slowing down and changing our course.
Origins:
The story is more true than not, although its primary point has been grossly exaggerated. According to folks at the Special Olympics Washington office, the incident happened at a 1976 track and field event held in Spokane, Washington. A contestant did take a tumble, and one or two of the other athletes turned back to help the fallen one, culminating in their crossing the finish line together, but it was only one or two, not everyone in the event. The others continued to run their race.
The story is thus not about an entire class of “special people” who spontaneously tossed aside their own dreams of going for gold in favor of helping a fallen competitor, but rather one about a couple of individuals who chose to go to the aid of another contestant. Unfortunately, this tale as it is now being told helps further a stereotype that deficiencies in intelligence are compensated for by unfailingly sweet natures and a way of looking at the world in childlike wonder.
Special Olympians train long and hard for their events and are every bit as committed as athletes who compete in any other athletic endeavors. The Special Olympics are not a casual get-together organized to give less fortunate members of the community a day to socialize and perhaps run in a foot race or two. They’re highly organized sporting events taken very seriously by all involved, with each competitor striving to do his best. It’s about trying. And succeeding.
The Special Olympics oath is “Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.”

When You Fear

When You Fear
Fear is greatest cause of misery in the world.
It is the greatest of all superstitions.
It is the cause of all our woes.
The moment you fear, you are nobody.

Depth Of Love

Love is not finding the right person, but creating the right relationship.
It is not how much love we have in the beginning, but how much love we build until the end.

How The Time Flies

Everyone says, “How the time flies.”
The days go by and they are years, and the years finally become our whole life.
Each daily portion can be wasted, or it can be a pleasure, before it is gone forever.
If a review of the day concludes that we were too stressed,
too busy, didn’t accomplish anything, didn’t have any fun,
then it has been another lost piece of precious life.
Pravs J - How The Time Flies

Purpose Of Life

It’s not enough to have lived. Be determined to live for something.
It should be creating joy for others, Working for the betterment of society,
Sharing what we have, Bringing hope to the lost, And giving love to the lonely.
