Once upon a time a married couple celebrated their 25 th marriage 


anniversary. They had become famous in the city for not having a single 


conflict in their period of 25 years. Local newspaper editors had 

gathered at the occasion to find out the secret of their well known 


“happy going marriage”.



Editor: “ Sir. It’s amazingly unbelievable. How did you make this 

possible? ”



Husband recalling his old honeymoon days said:  “ We had been to Shimla 


for honeymoon after marriage. Having selected the horse riding finally, 


we both started the ride on different horses. My horse was pretty okay 


but the horse on which my wife was riding seemed to be a crazy one.


On the way ahead, that horse jumped suddenly, making my wife topple 


over. Recovering her position from the ground, she patted the horse’s 


back and said ” This is your first time ”. She again climbed the horse 


and continued with the ride. After a while, it happened again. This time 


she again kept calm and said “ This is your second time ” and continued. 


When the horse dropped her third time, she silently took out the 

revolver from the purse and shot the horse dead !!



I shouted at my wife: “ What did you do you psycho. You killed the poor 


animal. Are you  crazy ?” ...



She gave a silent look and said: “ This is your first time!!! ”.”


Husband: ”That’s it. We are happily married ever after. “

CORRECT WAY OF COOKING NOODLES

The correct way to cook instant noodles without harming our health. `Normally, how we cook the instant noodles is to put the noodles into a pot with water, throw in the powder and let it cook for around 3 minutes and then it's ready to eat.

This is the WRONG method of cooking the instant noodles.

By doing this, when we actually boil the ingredients in the powder, normally with MSG, it will change the molecular structures of the MSG causing it to be toxic.

The other thing that you may or may not realize is that the noodles are coated with wax and it will take around 4 to 5 days for the body to
excrete the wax after you have taken the noodles.

CORRECT METHOD:
1.    Boil the noodles in a pot with water.

2.    Once the noodles are cooked, take out the noodles, and throw away the water which contains wax.

3.    Boil another pot of water till boiling and put the noodles into the hot boiling water and then shut the fire.

4.    Only at this stage when the fire is off, and while the water is very hot, put the ingredient with the powder into the water, to make noodle soup.

5.    However, if you need dry noodles, take out the noodles and add the ingredient with the powder and toss it to get dry noodles.

Dietician's Note: If you buy plain Hakka noodles which you make initially need to boil in water and discard the water. This will soften the noodles but to prevent it from sticking we need to add a tbsp of oil and also the noodles are deep fried partially to make it crunchy and then dusted with flour to prevent it from sticking while boiling. Hence when you buy the noodles they are already made unhealthy and this is the type we use to make stir fry noodles and the regular Maggi too is made the same way plus they add MSG/ Ajinomoto and other chemical preservatives. 

A large number of patient with the ages ranging from 18-24 years are ending up with pancreatitis either as a swelling or infection of the
pancreas due to regular consumption of instant noodles.... If the frequency is more than 3 times a week, then it is very hazardous...

Since 1956, malathion has been used for insect control and is often used by municipalities to control mosquito populations. The chemical is considered safe for humans and the environment when used under specific conditions and at specific concentrations. 

Malathion is of low toxicity; however, absorption or ingestion into the human body readily results in its metabolism to malaoxon, which is substantially more toxic.[17] In studies of the effects of long-term exposure to oral ingestion of malaoxon in rats, malaoxon has been shown to be 61 times more toxic than malathion.[17] It is cleared from the body quickly, in three to five days.[18] According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency there is currently no reliable information on adverse health effects of chronic exposure to malathion.[19] Acute exposure to extremely high levels of malathion will cause body-wide symptoms whose intensity will be dependent on the severity of exposure. Possible symptoms include skin and eye irritation, cramps, nausea, diarrhea, excessive sweating, seizures and even death. Most symptoms tend to resolve within several weeks. Malathion present in untreated water is converted to malaoxon during the chlorination phase of water treatment, so malathion should not be used in waters that may be used as a source for drinking water, or any upstream waters.

Your Facebook Tricolor Profile Picture Doesn't Support Digital India; rather it vote to support Internet.org

Ever since Mark Zuckerberg changed his Facebook profile picture to a tricolor shade to show support to the Digital India campaign by the Modi government, we Indians have been following suit. Our timelines are flooded with tricolor profile pictures created fromfb.com/supportdigitalindia. Now like everybody, you may think this is a gesture to support digital India. But it is not.

Truth is that this is a subtle, albeit clever, tactic to promote Facebook’s new initiative called internet.org. Facebook, in collaboration with 6 companies, namely, Samsung, Ericsson, Media Tek, Opera Software  Nokia and Qualcomm, launched internet.org that plans to provide free internet services to developing countries.

Now it may sound like a great philanthropic idea, one that would help digitalize even remote villages, it actually is a blow to internet freedom and net neutrality. Here’s why:

The free internet service will be available only to Reliance users, since the partnership is with Reliance. And the “free access” that is being much talked about it only to Facebook and its 50 partner sites, which is nothing but manipulating internet users with a carrot-stick tactic.

A look at the source code and well, the profile pic is NOT for the support of Digital India, but for Facebook’s Internet.org initiative.

What’s The Big Deal?

In a response to DoT, Facebook just announced that 17 million people have supported the Internet.org service. The company has published all comments received (dropbox link/via) – which was (I believe) mostly collected from its CAN’T-SAY-NO-POLLS.

While you might be updating your profile pic to (look cool) show your support towards Digital India, Facebook is counting it as a support for Internet.org !

Some time back, when the country had risen in support of net neutrality signing petitions to save it, big players like The Times of India and NDTV had pulled out of internet.org citing the violation of net neutrality.

So, if you think that by changing your profile picture you are supporting the cause of a digitalized India, don’t. You are unconsciously helping Facebook kill net neutrality. 

The Samosa Vendor

Bombay meri jaan....It was my regular train journey home from work.
I boarded the 18:50pm train from Church Gate.
When the train was about to leave Marinelines,
A samosa vendor with an empty basket got on and took
the seat next to me.
As the compartment was sparsely occupied and my
destination was still far away,
I got into a conversation with him.

Me: "Seems like you've sold all your samosas today."
Vendor (smiling): "Yes. By God's grace, full sales today."

Me: "I really feel sorry for you people. Don't you get tired doing
This tiresome job the whole day?"

Vendor: "What to do, sir? Only by selling samosas like this every day do
We get a commission of 75 paise for each samosa that we sell."

Me: "Oh, is that so ? How many samosas do you sell on an average each day?"
Vendor: "On peak days, we sell 4,000 to 5,000 samosas per day.
On an average, we sell about 3,000 samosas a day."

I was speechless.....for a few seconds.
The guy says he sells 3,000 samosas a day; at 75 paise each,
He makes about 2,000 rupees daily, or 60,000 rupees a month.
That's Rs. 60,000 a month. OMG.
I intensified my questioning and this time it was not for time pass.
Me: "Do you make the samosas yourself?"
Vendor: "No Sir. we gets the samosas through a samosa manufacturer
And we just sell them. After selling we give him the money
And gives us 75 paise for each samosa that we sell."

I was unable to speak a single word more but the vendor continued...
"But one thing...most of our earnings are spent on living expenses.
Only with the remaining money are we able to take care of other business."

Me: "Other business? What is that?"

Vendor: "It is a land business. In 2007 I bought 1.5 acres in
Palghar for 10 lakh rupees and I sold it a few months back for 60 lakhs.
Now I have bought land in umroli for 20 lakh rupees."

Me: "What did you do with the remaining amount?

Vendor: "Of the remaining amount,
I have set aside 20 lakhs for my daughter's wedding.
I have deposited the other 20 lakhs in the bank."

Me: "How much schooling have you had?"

Vendor: "I studied up to third standard;
I stopped my studies when I was in the 4th standard.
But I know how to read and write.
Sir, there are many people like yourself,
Who dress well, wear a tie, wear shoes,
Speak English fluently and work in air-conditioned rooms.
But I don't think you guys earn as much
As we do wearing dirty clothes and selling samosas."

At this point, what could I reply. After all, I was talking to a
Millionaire! The train chugged into khar station
And the samosa vendor got up from his seat.

Vendor: "Sir, this is my station...have a good day."
Me: "Take care.".
